SNJ(Shanghai Neles-Jamesbury Valve Co., Ltd) is a joint venture company between Shanghai Electric (Group) Corporation and Metso Automation, a Finnish multinational corporation. The company was established on a 50-50 equity basis.

Metso Automation renamed from a former Finland-American corporation, Neles-Jamesbury, is a subsidiary company of Metso Group, a global engineering and technology Corporation.

Metso Automation specializes in processing automation and field control technology and is known as a world recognized design and manufacturing leader for ball valves, butterfly valves, control valves, actuators and intelligent valve controllers.

SNJ owns advanced valve design and manufacturing technology and has accumulated remarkable experience in serving the major domestic and overseas’ engineering projects. Today SNJ has established its leading position in the Chinese valve industry and provides products of world class to customers at home and abroad.

SNJ’s major product lines are high performance ball valves and butterfly valves which are widely used in many different industrial applications. The self developed Series G pipeline ball valves were used in quite many long distance transmission pipelines such as Sebei-Xining-Lanzhou natural gas transmission line, Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing petroleum transmission line, Shanxi-Beijing pipeline and Laermu-Lasha pipelines and the products are well accepted by the customer. SNJ is the only successful bidder of the Chinese domestic ball valve supplier for valves in the main trunk line in the world famous “West Gas Transmission to East” project and was appraised as one of the Excellent Vendors.

SNJ is provided with the technology for design and manufacturing Double-Seal® ball valves, Wafer-Sphere® High Performance butterfly valves, QUADRA-POWR®X spring diaphragm rotary actuators (under Jamesbury brand) and L90 metal seated butterfly valves (under Neles brand).

SNJ has established its information system which runs easily under the LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network). The information system can operate in wire or wireless mode and connects top from Decision Support System (DSS) down to process control of the CNC machines and Manufacturing Executive System (MES). The information system such as ERP, CRM, OA, CAD/CAM integrates all the business functions in sales, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, R & D, financing and daily office routines. The system enables the easy access of information in all business areas and makes it possible to handle or inquire business information almost at any time and at any place.

SNJ is equipped with modern CNC machines and machine centers that were mostly imported from USA, Japan and Korea. Of all the machines we have, Ball-matic CNC machine center is the most unique one in the Chinese valve industry. The company has all the needed chemical and physical property measuring equipment, valve testers, ball roundness tester and product cycle life test machines. The Coordinate Measuring Machine was imported from USA which ensures the machined parts meet design tolerance.

SNJ is certified to ISO 9001:2000, PED97/23/EC and API6D and has awarded the nuclear valve design & manufacture license. The product is tested to API607. In addition, company has awarded titles of “Advanced Enterprise of Foreign Investment”, “High-tech Enterprise”, Technology and Knowledge Intensive Company” and etc.
